Our Sessions
Wild & Free
Birth to around 14 years old family session. Our 'Wild and Free' group is fully inclusive and is for children who educate outside of a school based setting and for toddlers who plan to have a school based education. Come and learn in the outdoors through nature, play and hands on activities. Each session children have the opportunity to cook on the open fire and take part in two, seasonal nature activities to develop skills. There are also lots of play based opportunities around our site including a lake to feed and (try) to catch fish in with nets, relax in hammocks, imagine in our ground based treehouse and have fun on adventure island with den building, mud kitchen and lots of free play. Our tipi tent has further learning opportunities with books, art area, microscopes and small world/baby area. We encourage adults to engage with focussed activities with their children but also to chat with like minded adults whilst enjoying a hot drink around the fire allowing children to spend time with their peers (children must be supervised - from a distance, at all times). From 2024 children can choose whether to work towards a badge each month. The ethos at Wild in the Woods is to nurture a passion for learning, naturally. Our approach is for children to choose what interests them and when they would like to take part. No forced learning. We do not charge for under 8 months and younger or siblings 12 months and younger.
Run Wild
Birth to around 14 years old family session. Our 'Run Wild' group is aimed at all ages with skill based focussed activities for those who are ready for them. Come and have fun in the outdoors through nature, play and hands on activities. Each session children have the opportunity to cook on the open fire and take part in two seasonal, nature activities to develop skills. There are also lots of play based opportunities around our site including a lake to feed and (try!) to catch fish in with nets, relax in hammocks, imagine in our ground based treehouse and have fun on adventure island with den building, mud kitchen and lots of free play.
Wild Tots
Nature play for birth to five years old. A play based session with nature themes around a book. Come and join in with play activities, cook a snack on the fire, listen to a story and have lots of fun around our site. Each week there will be activities on offer based around a different nature book set up for you to enjoy. There's also lots to do around the site such as mud kitchen, den building, tunnels, treehouse, lake to feed fish, woodland walks and hammocks. Our large tipi has opportunities to share books together, draw and paint, use the microscopes, binoculars and drinks for children and adults.
